Makoto Tamura

Makoto TAMURA received the M.A. and Ph.D degrees in Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. His major is energy and environmental economics. His research interest is the impact assessment and countermeasures for climate change, and the interrelationship between economic activity and environment. He is also working at Ibaraki Local Climate Change Adaptation Center (iLCCAC), based on climate change adaptation act enacted in 2018.
He used to study about economic assessment of mitigation and energy issues. He is now studying about climate change adaptations such as coastal area and agriculture, collaborating with various experts and stakeholders in both Japan, Vietnam and some East Asian countries.

Akihiko Kotera

Hello, my name is KOTERA. I'm a lecturer at Global and Local Environment Co-creation institute (GLEC), Ibaraki University, Japan. My specializes in agro-informatics, mainly developing and applying remote sensing technology to see what's going on in the farmland over a wide area both local and global. In particular, I've been involved in assessing damages caused by flooding, drought and salt on crop productions induced by climate change. Recently, I'm interested in science communication with local people. I've been a part of the SARNCCAS since its inception in Vietnam. My name is Bui Thi Hoa, currently work at Vietnam Japan University as a faculty assistant. I got the Master degree in Public policy and my research theme related to climate security in the context of climate change toward sustainable development. I am interested in looking into deforestation drivers and passionate in forest conservation because it could help to enhance the carbon sinks and maintain the habitat for biodiversity. Jun Furuya

Jun Furuya is an economist at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences in Tsukuba Japan. He has spent most of his professional career working on supply and demand model analyses including the world food model. He has published research articles in the area of impacts of climate change on food and nutrition supply. Development economic analyses such as improving calculation method of premium of the weather index insurance are his another major.

Md. Monirul Islam

Md. Monirul Islam has completed his Bachelor and Masters from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh, and is now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Tsukuba, Japan under the Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship). In his professional life, he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Bangladesh Agricultural University. At this stage, he has 30 research articles published in reputed international and national journals. His research interests focus on the fields of climate change, GIS and remote sensing, vulnerability assessment and geospatial crop insurance, land use policy, and food security.

Mrs. Arifa Jannat is pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. She was appointed as a junior faculty member at Bangladesh Agricultural University after completing her B.Sc. and MS in Agricultural Economics. Nobuo Mimura

My special areas are global environmental engineering and coastal engineering. I have promoted the study of climate change impact and adaptation in Japan, Asia and small islands in the South Pacific. I also worked as coordinating lead author of IPCC and as an advisor to several ministries of Japanese Government as well as international bodies such as the World Bank. Juan M. Phlhin

DR. JUAN M. PULHIN is a Professor in Forest Governance and Climate Change and former Dean of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baños (CFNR-UPLB). He also holds the title of UP Scientist III in recognition of his scholarly outputs and international scientific standing. He currently chairs the UPLB Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management. He has been a four-time Visiting Professor at The University of Tokyo in 2007, 2010, 2016 and 2017, respectively, and a Visiting Scholar at the Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in 2018.

Kazuya Yasuhara

Kazuya Yasuhara is Professor Emeritus of Ibaraki University in Japan; His academic career started in Kyushu University from 1968 to 1971, earning a Doctoral Degree as well. He was then a Professor at NIT from 1971 to 1990 and Ibaraki University from 1990 to 2007. Prof. Yasuhara was a post-doctoral research fellow at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA and was a Research Fellow at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute in Oslo, Norway. His current research interest is in geo-disasters caused by climate change and earthquakes. He also served as a Review Editor for IPCC AR 5 from 2010 to 2014.
