I am energetically conducting research and education practices (action research) on people living in the local community or children at school to improve their resilience. Makoto Tamura
Makoto TAMURA received the M.A. and Ph.D degrees in Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo. His major is energy and environmental economics. His research interest is the impact assessment and countermeasures for climate change, and the interrelationship between economic activity and environment. He is also working at Ibaraki Local Climate Change Adaptation Center (iLCCAC), based on climate change adaptation act enacted in 2018.
He used to study about economic assessment of mitigation and energy issues. He is now studying about climate change adaptations such as coastal area and agriculture, collaborating with various experts and stakeholders in both Japan, Vietnam and some East Asian countries.
Akihiko Kotera
Hello, my name is KOTERA. I'm a lecturer at Global and Local Environment Co-creation institute (GLEC), Ibaraki University, Japan. My specializes in agro-informatics, mainly developing and applying remote sensing technology to see what's going on in the farmland over a wide area both local and global. In particular, I've been involved in assessing damages caused by flooding, drought and salt on crop productions induced by climate change. Recently, I'm interested in science communication with local people. I've been a part of the SARNCCAS since its inception in Vietnam. My name is Bui Thi Hoa, currently work at Vietnam Japan University as a faculty assistant. I got the Master degree in Public policy and my research theme related to climate security in the context of climate change toward sustainable development. In term of climate security, I pay attention more on the policy for energy security. I do hope that I can enrich my knowledge through the SARNCCAS network.
Nhinh Thi Do
My background is in climate change and development. I am a visiting researcher at MCCD, Vietnam Japan University in Hanoi. I am interested in looking into deforestation drivers and passionate in forest conservation because it could help to enhance the carbon sinks and maintain the habitat for biodiversity. For entertainment, I am fond of watching wildlife in natural reserves and/or national parks.
Jun Furuya
Jun Furuya is an economist at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences in Tsukuba Japan. He has spent most of his professional career working on supply and demand model analyses including the world food model. He has published research articles in the area of impacts of climate change on food and nutrition supply. Development economic analyses such as improving calculation method of premium of the weather index insurance are his another major.
Md. Monirul Islam
Md. Monirul Islam has completed his Bachelor and Masters from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Bangladesh, and is now pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Tsukuba, Japan under the Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho: MEXT Scholarship). In his professional life, he has been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Bangladesh Agricultural University. At this stage, he has 30 research articles published in reputed international and national journals. His research interests focus on the fields of climate change, GIS and remote sensing, vulnerability assessment and geospatial crop insurance, land use policy, and food security.
Arifa Jannat
Mrs. Arifa Jannat is pursuing her doctoral degree at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. She was appointed as a junior faculty member at Bangladesh Agricultural University after completing her B.Sc. and MS in Agricultural Economics. She is a scholar of the More Jobs Better Lives Foundation, Japan. Her research interests include supply and demand modelling, climate change vulnerability, sustainable food and nutritional security, and econometrics approaches. She is very much team-oriented person who loves to work with people. She spends her free time doing creative writing.

I'm a lecturer in the department of environmental science. faculty of science and technology Phuket Rajabhat university, Phuket province, Thailand. I am interest in the application of geoinformatics technology to environmental management, land use planning and survey and monitoring of environmental quality. An example of my research is spatial Interpolation for analysis on the diffusion of particulate matter in the Phuket municipality, Phuket province and application of geoinformatics technology for land use change detection in coastal area of Phang nga province, Thailand.

Born in 1989. Lecturer at University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. My areas of expertise are education, biodiversity, environmental education and climate change education. I research and practice education on elementary, middle, high school and university students. I love traveling and learning about different countries in the world.
Nobuo Mimura
My special areas are global environmental engineering and coastal engineering. I have promoted the study of climate change impact and adaptation in Japan, Asia and small islands in the South Pacific. I also worked as coordinating lead author of IPCC and as an advisor to several ministries of Japanese Government as well as international bodies such as the World Bank. Recognizing the importance of higher education in universities, I contributed to establish educational programs in Ibaraki University and Vietnam Japan University.

My study is working on understanding the level of awareness and factors affecting the reduction of the use of single-use plastic by consumers. I stopped using single-use plastic bags six years ago. Juan M. Phlhin
DR. JUAN M. PULHIN is a Professor in Forest Governance and Climate Change and former Dean of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources, University of the Philippines Los Baños (CFNR-UPLB). He also holds the title of UP Scientist III in recognition of his scholarly outputs and international scientific standing. He currently chairs the UPLB Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management. He has been a four-time Visiting Professor at The University of Tokyo in 2007, 2010, 2016 and 2017, respectively, and a Visiting Scholar at the Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan in 2018.

Duyen Kim Vu
I am a former student of the master's program on climate change and development, at Vietnam Japan University. Currently, I am pursuing a personal project, which focuses on forest restoration and development in Vietnam. Parallel with it, there is an effort to replicate the Syntropic AgroForestry model and create sustainable livelihoods under the forest canopy. In 2022, Our goal is to establish a social enterprise that is a full legal status and connect with international businesses and scientists.
Kazuya Yasuhara
Kazuya Yasuhara is Professor Emeritus of Ibaraki University in Japan; His academic career started in Kyushu University from 1968 to 1971, earning a Doctoral Degree as well. He was then a Professor at NIT from 1971 to 1990 and Ibaraki University from 1990 to 2007. Prof. Yasuhara was a post-doctoral research fellow at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, USA and was a Research Fellow at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute in Oslo, Norway. His current research interest is in geo-disasters caused by climate change and earthquakes. He also served as a Review Editor for IPCC AR 5 from 2010 to 2014.
